1:43-Scale, Super-detailed, Open, Hand-built Model of the Porsche 962C, Le Mans 1987

This new model of the Porsche 962C "Leyton House" was built using a Model Factory Hiro kit.

The car finished 4th at Le Mans in 1987 and was driven by the team of Fouché, Konrad and Taylor for Kremer Racing.

This model is slightly different from some of my recent Hiro builds as the customer requested an open model.  But unlike some of my scratch-built, opening models, the doors are fixed open and not on hinges.  As usual the kit was extensively modified with the addition of some new, scratch-built parts, particularly for the engine, with some replacing those supplied with the kit.

This model was finished in late 2018 and it was on display at Retromobile 2019.
