1:43-Scale, Super-detailed, Hand-built Model of the McLaren-Ford M14A, 1970 Monaco Grand Prix

Along with the Brabham BT33, this is the second model from the 1970 Monaco Grand Prix.  The M14A was driven by Bruce McLaren who unfortunately did not finish the race due to suspension problems on the 19th lap.

This model has a considerable number of new, finely detailed and scratch-built parts in brass and turned aluminium as the original Tenariv kit did not have the level of detail required, and by the time the model was finished, little of it remained. In particular, I added parts to the engine, I rebuilt the cockpit, the rear bodywork, the radiator and its support, and the nose cone, as well as the front and rear suspension and the steering system, amongst others.  I also added individual rivets to the bodywork, and various fuel lines and cables such as the spark plug wires to the engine. All these details can be seen in the photos.

The model was completed at the end of 2016 and was on display at Retromobile 2017.
