This new model of the Lotus Ford 88 'Essex' is built from a Model Factory Hiro kit. This version was driven by Elio de Angelis at the 1981 USA West Grand Prix, Long Beach, California. He retired early in the race due to an accident on the 13th lap.

The model has been built “from-the-box”, with very few modifications, although I have added various fuel lines and cables such as the spark plug wires to the engine.

The model was on display at Retromobile 2020.
