This is the 1954 Test version of the Lancia D50. Unfortunately neither the name of the driver nor the circuit used for the Test have been specified, but photos do exist of the Test version of the car.
Like the Monaco version of the Lancia D50, this model was built using a 1:43-scale Model Factory Hiro kit. Again I kept largely to a “from-the-box” build, although I made some improvements to the engine by adding various fuel lines and cables such as the spark plug wires, and adding individual rivets to the bodywork.
I should emphasise that the bodywork was painted using both an airbrush and by hand to resemble oxidized aluminium and is not the bare white-metal of the kit.
The model was completed in January 2014 and was exhibited at Retromobile 2014.
