A Tenariv kit was used as the base for this model, but it has been completely rebuilt to make this presentation version. Almost nothing from the original kit remains, so it has been virtually scratch-built.

The Ferrari Dino 166 F2 was presented at the Turin Salone dell’Automobile exhibition in February 1967, and made its race debut later that year in the Reims F2 Grand Prix in June. In all seven versions of the Dino 166 were built, and it achieved some of its most notable successes in the hands of Ferrari driver, Chris Amon. He achieved particular success in New Zealand and Australia competing in the 1968 & 1969 Tasman Championships, which he won overall in 1969.

The various parts of the bodywork, such as the front nose & the rear cover, as well as the wings, were scratch-built in resin and plasticard. The car is quite a simple design so it was not necessary to make many parts, but the front & rear suspension were scratch-built from turned brass and aluminium, as were the peripheral parts of the engine. The engine itself was made from scratch in brass and resin.

The model was completed in November 2015 and was on display at Retromobile 2016 and at The London Classic Car Show 2016 in February 2016.
