1:43-Scale, Hand-built Model of the Ferrari 375 Indianapolis, 1952 Indianapolis 500

This is a new model of the Ferrari 375 Indianapolis, driven by Alberto Ascari at the 1952 Indianapolis 500. The model has been built using Tameo's new white-metal kit.

Whilst there is no engine with this model, I have nevertheless made a number of modifications to the kit.  These include new spring fixings on the engine cover; new suspension made from turned parts; various news parts for the cockpit such as a new steering wheel, new dashboard with instruments made from turned parts rather than decals, a new a new gear stick, fuel tap and handbrake; the air intake on the engine cover has been opened and a grill added; the three flaps on the bodywork have also been opened; various external cables have also been added.  As well as working on the paint finish of the interior and exterior of the car, I have also made sure to include Ascari's symbolic blue band on the nose cone.

The Indianapolis 500 was part of the 1952 Formula One World Championship.  Ascari was the first European to qualify for the race in the World Championship era. He also became World Champion in 1952 having won 6 out of the 8 championship races, although he failed to finish at Indianapolis.

The model was finished in 2021, and it is available to order.  The price of the model is 900.00 Euros (excl. French sales tax*), plus shipping.
