1:43-Scale, Super-detailed, Hand-built Models of the Alfa Romeo 159 Alfetta by Pierre Laugier, LP Creation

Two 1:43-Scale, Super-detailed, Hand-built Models of the Alfa Romeo 159 Alfetta, 1951

This two-model display is the Alfa Romeo 159 Alfetta which was driven by World Champion, Juan-Manuel Fangio.

As can be seen in the photos, one model shows the car without its bodywork, next to the version complete with its bodywork.  The idea behind this two-model display is to give the opportunity to view the uninterrupted lines and shape of the car, whilst at the same time viewing the chassis and internal workings of the car.

Both models were built from kits by Model Factory Hiro.  Both models were modified with the addition of some new, scratch-built parts in brass and aluminium, some of which replaced those supplied with the kit.  The majority of these new parts were used in the version without the bodywork.

The built model is the version from the 1951 British Grand Prix where Fangio finished second.  The chassis model is the version from the 1951 Spanish Grand Prix which Fangio won.

These models were finished in late 2018 and they were on display at Retromobile 2019.
