PIERRE LAUGIER AND LP CREATION

Pierre Laugier LP Creation 1:43-scale car modeller

I have been making motorsport models since childhood.  Like most boys I started with plastic kits but soon moved on to build kits in resin and white metal.  With experience, I added my own modifications, changing or making new parts to ensure that the finished work was as close as possible to the real thing.  Creating such models has become my passion.

LP Creation was set-up in 1993 when I began building my all-opening, super-detailed models, completely transforming AMR, Tameo and Meri kits. I was fortunate to gain recognition with my Formula One models at the UK’s Modelex exhibitions during the 1990’s. My commitment to accuracy has enabled LP Creation to earn an international reputation in the world of hand-built, 1:43 scale, motorsport models and my work is sought after by collectors around the world in Japan, Europe and the USA.

Since constructing a Lancia D50, my first scratch-built model featuring opening and closing bodywork, I have continued to refine my techniques from my workhop, firstly in Aix-en-Provence, and then since 2015 in Marseille, and I no longer rely only on kit components for my models, preferring instead to make my own parts, usually in brass. One of my best-known models, a Maserati Tipo 63, was a complete labour of love and took me almost two years to make. A more recent creation from scratch was an Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Coupe, Le Mans 1938. I have also been making various pre-war racing cars such as a number of different versions of the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, and the Alfa Romeo P2 and P3.

In 2020 I presented my first 1:12-scale model, a Ferrari 156 Sharknose, which was built from a Model Factory Hiro kit.  In 2021 I began to make my first 1:8-scale scratch-built model, a Lotus Climax 18.
